Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in two places: the TaskDorm website and the Car Maintenance & Glovebox app. They are described separately below.

Car Maintenance & Glovebox is a private, local-first vehicle recordkeeping app. It does not require an account, contains no ads, and does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software.

The TaskDorm website

The TaskDorm website is an informational site. It does not require you to create an account or sign in, and it does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process basic technical information, such as IP addresses, browser information, request timestamps, and server logs, to deliver, secure, and operate the site. TaskDorm does not use this information to advertise to you.

If you email hello@taskdorm.com with a website question, your message is handled through ordinary email systems outside the app. Please include only the information necessary for your request.

The website may link to the Apple App Store or other websites and services. Those services have their own privacy practices.

The Car Maintenance & Glovebox app

The rest of this policy explains how the Car Maintenance & Glovebox app handles information.

What the app stores on your device

Car Maintenance & Glovebox lets you enter and manage information such as:

• Vehicle names, makes, models, years, trim levels, colors, notes, license plates, and Vehicle Identification Numbers

• Odometer readings and mileage history

• Service history, maintenance plans, reminders, shops, costs, categories, and notes

• Receipt images, vehicle photos, and PDF documents

• Warranty information

• Insurance information, including insurer, policy number, coverage dates, agent details, claims contact information, and insurance-card attachments

• Registration and inspection information

• Roadside-assistance information

• Accident Information notes

• App preferences and settings

This information is stored in the app’s private storage area on your iPhone or iPad. TaskDorm does not receive or store the information you enter in the app on its servers.

No account, advertising, or analytics

Car Maintenance & Glovebox does not require an account or profile.

The app does not sell your information, use your vehicle records for advertising, or include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking software.

Photos and documents

You may choose to take a photo or select an existing photo or PDF for use in the app.

When you use an Apple photo or document picker, the app receives only the item you select. The app does not receive unrestricted access to your entire photo library or file collection.

Selected files are copied into the app’s private storage. They remain on your device unless you choose to export, back up, or share them.

Sensitive vehicle information

The app may store sensitive information such as VINs, policy numbers, registration numbers, and roadside membership numbers.

Where these identifiers appear in the app, they may be masked until you choose to reveal them. Sensitive identifiers and private Glovebox notes are excluded from ordinary notifications, Siri and Shortcuts responses, Sample Garage content, and standard service-history exports.

Manual backup files may contain this information because their purpose is to preserve and restore your complete records. Store backup files securely.

Sample Garage

Sample Garage contains fictional demonstration records designed to show how the app works before purchase.

Sample Garage does not access, copy, modify, merge with, or export your personal vehicle records. Its fictional records remain separate from your real garage.

Reminders and notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules maintenance and document reminders locally on your device. TaskDorm does not operate a notification server for the app.

A notification may display a vehicle nickname and maintenance task. The app includes a notification-privacy setting that can replace those details with more general wording.

You can manage notification permission in your iPhone or iPad settings.

App Lock and device security

Car Maintenance & Glovebox offers an optional App Lock that uses your device’s Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.

Authentication is handled by Apple on your device. TaskDorm does not receive or store your biometric information, fingerprint, facial data, or device passcode.

Apple purchases

The app uses Apple’s StoreKit system to offer a one-time Lifetime Unlock.

Apple processes the purchase and related Apple Account information. TaskDorm does not receive your payment-card details.

If Family Sharing is available for the purchase, Apple may share the purchase entitlement with eligible family members. Family Sharing does not share your vehicle records or documents.

Siri and Shortcuts

Some app actions may be available through Siri or Apple Shortcuts.

These features are handled through Apple’s system services. The app does not expose Glovebox documents, policy numbers, registration numbers, roadside membership numbers, or private Accident Information notes through Siri or Shortcuts.

Apple’s handling of Siri and Shortcuts is governed by Apple’s own privacy practices.

Manual backup and restore

Backups are created only when you choose to create one. The app does not automatically upload or synchronize your records.

A manual backup may contain your vehicle records, documents, photos, sensitive identifiers, notes, and settings. When you create a backup, you choose where to save or share it through Apple’s system interface.

Restoring a backup replaces the data currently stored in the app after you review and confirm the restore.

Your iPhone or iPad’s ordinary device backup may also include app data depending on your Apple and device settings. That process is controlled by Apple and your chosen settings, not by TaskDorm.

Exports and sharing

Car Maintenance & Glovebox lets you create and share items such as service-history CSV files, PDF reports, resale packets, photos, documents, and manual backups.

When you export or share something, you choose the destination through Apple’s system interface. Possible destinations may include Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email, Messages, or another app.

After information leaves Car Maintenance & Glovebox, it is handled by the destination, service, app, or person you selected. Review the contents before sharing and store sensitive exports securely.

Support email

If you contact us for support, you may choose to provide your email address and the information in your message.

The app may prefill basic diagnostic information such as the app version, iOS or iPadOS version, and general device type. It does not automatically include your vehicle records, VINs, policy numbers, registration information, documents, photos, receipts, or private notes.

Please include only the information necessary to explain the issue.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual records, documents, or vehicles where those controls are available.

You can also use the app’s data-management controls to remove locally stored information, or delete the app from your device. Deleting the app removes its locally stored records and files, subject to Apple’s device-backup and restoration features.

TaskDorm cannot recover information that existed only on your device.

Files you previously exported, shared, or backed up remain wherever you saved or sent them until you delete them separately.

Children

Car Maintenance & Glovebox is a general vehicle recordkeeping app and is not directed to children under 13.

TaskDorm does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.

International use

Car Maintenance & Glovebox may be available outside the United States in English.

Your app records remain stored primarily on your device. Information you choose to send through email, exports, backups, or third-party services is handled according to the privacy practices of the destination you select.

Changes to this policy

TaskDorm may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

The current version will be published on the TaskDorm website with a revised Last Updated date. Material changes affecting the app will also be reflected in an app update or release information where appropriate.
